Porsche packed up the year 2021 with the launch of the updated Macan and the debut of Porsche Taycan. And Porsche India has decided to kick start the year with the launch of two new GTS models.
The Porsche 718 Cayman GTS 4.0 and the 718 Boxster GTS 4.0 have been launched in India. The 718 Cayman GTS 4.0, which is the sports coupe of the two, is priced at Rs. 1.46 crore (ex-showroom). The convertible 718 Boxster GTS 4.0 carries a sticker price of Rs. 1.49 crore (ex-showroom).
The 718 Cayman and Boxster were on sale in the Indian market, but these two are the respective GTS versions of the same. The GTS badge brings along mild engineering enhancements such as larger air-intakes and a GTS-Specific apron. The front bumper lip, side air-ducts and 20-inch wheels have been blacked out in the GTS models.
The engine in both the Cayman GTS as well as the Boxster GTS is a common 4.0-litre flat-six unit. The power is rated at 394bhp and peak torque 420Nm is available at disposal.
The two new sportscars can be had with a three-pedal six-speed manual or a seven-speed PDK (dual-clutch auto); with the latter increasing the torque output by 10Nm. The claimed 0-100 km/hr time for both the models is 4.5 seconds and both the 718 Cayman GTS and Boxster GTS can do up to 293km/hr.
Inside, you will find Alcantara upholstery, which compliments the dark theme of the cabin. There is also a 7-inch infotainment screen which offers Porsche Communication Management and Track Precision App, in addition to other multimedia things.
