Polaris showcased a 6x6 all terrain ambulance developed by Faridabad based Bafna Healthcare Pvt. Ltd.

The off-Road ambulance is based on Polaris’s Ranger 6x6 800 ATVs. The ambulance is designed to tackle treacherous terrains and narrow paths of rural India, and to supply medical help and assistance to places, which cannot be undertaken by normal emergency vehicles.

The ATV comes powered with a 2-cylinder, 760cc engine which produces 40bhp. Power is transmitted to the wheels via an automatic transmission. The vehicle normally operates in 4-wheel drive mode only in which all the 4 rear wheels are powered. But if the situation arises, an on-demand system transfer power to the front wheels transforming the vehicle into a 6-wheel drive.

Mr. Pankaj Dubey, MD of Polaris India said, “Polaris off-road ambulances are apt for supplying medical supervision in rural India and calamity stuck regions, as they are capable of clearing highways/roads, or handling fire in narrow streets.”
