The Nissan Micra Gen5 has been revealed at the Paris Motor Show and will feature downsized powertrains.
At the Paris Motor Show, Nissan have revealed the new fifth generation of the Micra. The new Micra Gen5 will feature a 0.9-litre turbocharged three-cylinder petrol engine and a 1.5-litre turbo diesel engine, both of which produce 90hp. A naturally aspoirated 1.0-litre 73hp petrol engine will also be offered with the new Micra.
The styling of the new Micra is based on the Sway Concept unveiled at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show. At the front is the V-motion grille, from where the sharp-edged character line runs through to the rear end, boomerang-shaped lights and the and the floating roof. The rear door handles are now integrated into the C-pillars and its gets an extended roofline that results into a spoiler as well.
Nissan have worked extensively to make the Micra more comfortable to drive and travel as a passenger with greater seat and steering adjustment, and an extended wheelbase from the previous gen car.
Nissan have also loaded the new Micra with features like Intelligent Emergency Braking and Lane Departure Prevention as part of Nissan Intelligent Mobility. The Micra Gen5 will be offered with a selection of ten exterior colour options and 125 different personalization options. These however may differ from market to market.
The Micra Gen5 will exclusively feature an all –new six speaker Bose Personal sound system developed with the help of Nissan. The system is optimized for the driver with Bose UltraNearfield speakers, combined with Bose PersonalSpace Virtual Audio Technology built into the drive’s seat headrest. The car also has a 7-inch full colour central display for the infotainment system and navigation with Siri and Apple CarPlay.
The new Nissan Micra will go on sale in Europe in March 2017. The fifth generation Nissan Micra is expected to arrive in India around the end of 2017.
