Automobili Pininfarina unveiled their first Battista-based coachbuilt special. A unique take on the electric hypercar, the Pininfarina Battista Targamerica has an open-top body and distinctive exterior and interior design elements customised to the owner's preferences. The one-of-a-kind hypercar was commissioned at the last edition of the Monterey Car Week. A year later, it will now be shipped to its owner in the US, a "renowned car collector and existing Battista owner." According to the manufacturer, the one-off is even more valuable to them because it has "several elements personal to the client, referencing their life and achievements."

Pininfarina Battista Targamerica: Exterior Highlights
The absence of a roof and the somewhat modified rear deck are the primary differences from the conventional Pininfarina Battista. Inspired by Gianni Agnelli's customised 1986 Ferrari Testarossa Spider, the outside of the car features highlights of Iconica Blu Gloss (blue) combined with Argento Liquido Gloss (silver). An artist painted the Iconica Blu pinstripes by hand underneath the back wing. The distinctive five-spoke Ferrari-esque alloy wheels with black anodised aluminium centre caps and a ceramic polish add even more distinguishing touches.
The Battista Targamerica, according to Automobili Pininfarina Chief Design Officer Dave Amantea, is their 'first coach-built one-off vehicle' and 'will forever stand as a one-of-its-kind vehicle, and will never be repeated.' In addition to redesigning the panels, the company had to rework the carbon fibre monocoque to make room for the altered body style. The task at hand, according to Automobili Pininfarina Chief Technical Officer Andrea Crespi, was to provide 'Battista levels of performance without the tensile support of a hard-body roof,' which was made feasible by a 'creative, one-of-a-kind solution.'
Pininfarina Battista Targamerica: Interior Updates
Interior-wise, supple brown leather upholstery throughout the exposed cabin contrasts with black leather on the steering wheel and console. The F logo is engraved on the headrests, and a unique plaque is positioned in the space between the seats. Additionally, Automobili Pininfarina has included a custom baggage set stamped with the Battista Targamerica silhouette and matched with the cabin's upholstery.
The Italian company is quiet about the details of the person who ordered the Targamerica, but it seems he is a true cigar enthusiast. The humidor and cigar holder made especially for the buyer is the interior's pièce de résistance. The custom aluminium and glass box can contain up to three cigars, and the backlighting matches the colour of the selected driving mode. There are five driving modes: Calma (green), Pura (blue), Energica (orange), Furiosa (red), and Carattere (yellow).
Pininfarina Battista Targamerica: Rimac-sourced Powertrain
Coming to the mechanicals, similar to the standard Battista and B95 Barchetta hypercars, the Pininfarina Battista Targamerica is powered by an electric drivetrain sourced from Rimac. With quad electric motors and a 120kWh battery on board, the total power and torque output stands at 1,874bhp and 2,340Nm, respectively. According to the Italian car design company, the top speed surpasses 300km/h, and the car can go from 0 to 100km/h in less than 2 seconds.
