MG has achieved the milestone within three years of starting its commercial operations in India!

27th June 2019 was the day when Morris Garages, better known to us as MG Motor India, started its commercial operations in the country by launching its first-ever product, the Hector SUV. Since then, the SAIC Motor owned British marque has come a long way, and its product portfolio now comprises multiple SUV models like the Hector, Hector Plus, Gloster, ZS EV, and Astor. The carmaker now has a big reason to rejoice, as it has hit the one lakh sales milestone in India.

On its journey to achieve the milestone, MG secured quite a few laurels. For example, the carmaker was recently ranked No.1 in 2021 J.D. Power’s India Sales Satisfaction Study (SSI) and India Customer Service Index Study (CSI). Further, MG Motor India also secured the second position in dealer satisfaction among mass-market four-wheeler brands, as per the Federation of Automobile Dealers Associations (FADA).

Sharing his thoughts on this landmark achievement, Rajeev Chaba (President & MD, MG Motor India) said, 'We are grateful for the love and trust that we have received after establishing a solid foundation focused on employees, dealers, suppliers, and customers. Our dedication to bringing positive changes to the Indian mobility space through smart mobility solutions and creating a sustainable future is becoming stronger every day. In line with our core pillars – innovation, experiences, diversity, and community – we strive to give our best and delight every stakeholder who has put their trust in us from the beginning. Today, we are humbled as we reaffirm our commitment to making a positive difference in mobility and the community through our products and initiatives. We are thankful for the present and ecstatic about the future.'

MG Motor India has also focused on the ideals of diversity and inclusion. To this end, the brand has successfully integrated 37% of women employees into its workforce (including the factory) and aims to achieve 50% by December 2023. On the product front, MG recently launched the ZS EV facelift in India. You can read more about it in our first-drive review here.
