Nissan is recalling 12,000 cars in India to fix engine switch and airbags, as part of a global campaign to fix potential defects. The recall affects Micra hatchback and Sunny sedan produced between June, 2013 and March, 2015 in India.
The blame for faulty airbags lie with its manufacturer Takata, which has caused trouble for a stew of manufacturers, including Nissan.
The Japanese manufacturer has therefore stepped in, and is rectifying the issue through its dealership network at no cost to the customer.
"Nissan is conducting a voluntary recall campaign for about 2,70,000 vehicles on the certain models, including 12,000 vehicles in India. Nissan is committed to a high level of customer safety, service, and satisfaction and is working with its dealers to promptly address this issue."
