Nissan Magnite Facelift Spied for the First Time in India, Shows Shark-fin Antenna and New Alloy Wheel Design

The facelifted Nissan Magnite will likely use the same engine options as the outgoing model – a 1.0-litre naturally aspirated engine with 71bhp and 96Nm, and a 1.0-litre turbo-petrol unit with 99bhp and 160Nm.

The updated version of the Nissan Magnite has been spotted undergoing testing on Indian roads for the first time, over a month after the Japanese carmaker rolled out the 1,00,000th Magnite sport utility vehicle from its Alliance plant in Chennai. As already known, Nissan is readying the facelifted version of the Magnite for India launch, which will happen sometime this year. While the silhouette of the new Magnite remains the same, the spy shots show a new design for alloy wheels, which seem to be 16 inches in size. The rectangular-shaped taillights (expected to be LED units) can also be seen, along with a roof-mounted spoiler and a shark-fin antenna. Moreover, the compact SUV is expected to get redesigned bumpers and headlamps.

Like the Renault Kardian, the updated Magnite is expected to come with a new infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, an electric sunroof, a shorter gear lever, and Level 2 ADAS features, including lane keep assist, forward collision warning, and adaptive cruise control. Other expected features include ventilated seats, auto-dimming IRVM, and cornering light function. Safety-wise, the car will most likely get electronic stability control (ESC), a 360-degree camera, a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), dual front airbags, a hill-start assist, traction control, LED fog lamps, ISOFIX mounts, and more.

Nissan Magnite Facelift: Powertrain

The facelifted Nissan Magnite will likely use the same engine options as the outgoing model – a 1.0-litre naturally aspirated engine with 71bhp and 96Nm and a 1.0-litre turbo-petrol unit with 99bhp and 160Nm. The 5-speed manual gearbox that comes standard with the turbo mill has been replaced with a CVT, which reduces torque output to 152Nm; the naturally aspirated petrol engine, on the other hand, gets the option of an automatic transmission.

Nissan Magnite Facelift: Price, Rivals

Currently, Nissan only has the Magnite SUV in its India line-up. Launched in December 2020, the Nissan Magnite is currently priced between Rs 6 lakh and Rs 11.11 lakh (ex-showroom), making it one of the most affordable compact SUVs in the country.  Expect the facelifted version to command a similar price range. Once launched, it will continue to take on the Maruti Suzuki Fronx, Hyundai Exter, Renault Kiger, Mahindra XUV300, and Tata Nexon, which received a Dark Edition in early March.

Renault Kwid, Kiger, Triber Updated for 2024

French carmaker Renault, which has been part of an alliance with Nissan for about 25 years, updated its entire product portfolio in India – the Kwid, Kiger, and Triber. For the model year 2024, Renault India's product line-up has been enhanced with new features and variants, along with a 2-year standard warranty and a 7-year extended warranty.
