As claimed by Nissan, the Datsun Go+ will be India’s first compact MPV which will be designed, developed and manufactured in India.

Nissan recently announced that it will be starting the pre-bookings of its latest compact MPV – Dasun Go+ – from January 3, 2015. Previewed for the first time in the Auto Expo 2014, interested customers will be able to book the latest offering from Nissan between January 3 and 14. The customers will be required to submit fully-refundable amount of Rs. 11,000 at any Nissan dealership across India.

Not so long ago, Nissan launched its Datsun Go+ in the Indian market which was also India’s first sub-4 metre compact MPV. The ‘+’ sign signified the extra space and features that have been added to the already available Datsun Go.

Announcing the beginning on the pre-bookings, Mr. Guillaume Sicard, President, Nissan India Operations said, “We are happy to offer our latest product Datsun GO+, a segment-creating Compact MPV to customers in India. The Datsun GO+ is our second product in the market after the Datsun GO and reiterates our commitment to India. The Datsun brand stands for affordable mobility and the Datsun GO+ is a product for those families who prefer a bigger vehicle for both in-city and long distance travel for work as well as leisure. We opened pre-bookings today for customers who would like to be the early ones to own the new Datsun.”

The new offering from Nissan is also expected to improve the image that has been dented by the recent developments where the Datsun Go failed to pass the crash tests conducted by Global NCAP – the global watchdog of automobile security. Following the results, Global NCAP also had asked Nissan to stop manufacturing the Datsun Go calling it ‘highly unsafe’.
