Worldwide, nine million Volkswagen cars have been sold this year between January and November, and it has happened for the first time.
For the first time ever, Volkswagen group has sold nine million cars between January and November. This also includes brands sold under the Volkswagen umbrella. Last year, the group had sold 86,80,000 units in the same duration, and this year, it has risen by 4.6% to reach the 90,80,000 mark. The company sold 8,34,800 units in the month of November where it sold 8,28,900 units last November.
Delving into the sub-brands, Audi recorded an impressive figure of 15,90,000 units worldwide for the same duration whereas it sold 6,08,100 cars in Asia Pacific. Porsche sold 1,69,200 cars across the globe and 54,400 in Asia Pacific. Skoda scored a respectable score of 9,55,300 and 2,71,100 worldwide and in Asia Pacific respectively.
Apart from these sub-brands, Volkswagen alone sold 55,90,000 number of cars worldwide between January and November. And as expected, Asia Pacific was also its key strength where it sold 27,20,000 cars for the same time frame.
In the Asia Pacific region, the number of cars sold was 36,70,000, out of which 33,40,000 units were sold in China alone, which is also Volkswagen’s largest single market.
