A document of Mercedes-Benz has been leaked that reveals that the manufacturer is working on nine all-new models which are to be launched in 2017.
The GLA is expected to get a facelift, while the GLC Coupe which has been revealed is already on the cards to be launched internationally this year itself, a leaked Mercedes-Benz document has revealed information that the German manufacturer is currently working on nine brand new models which are scheduled to be dropped in the market in 2017.
As the BMW X2 is to be revealed at the 2016 Paris Motor Show, Mercedes will respond with the GLA Coupe early next year to rival the new BMW and the upcoming Volkswagen Tiguan coupe.
The new generation of the E-Class will also be expanded with a Coupe a convertible and an All-Terrain version of the ever popular sedan. The E-Class All Terrain, an estate which will compete with the Audi A6 Allroad and the forthcoming Volvo V90 Cross Country. The All Terrain will get a lifted ride height with the 4Matic all-wheel-drive system with Off-road assistance. A long-wheelbase version of the standard E-Class is also reportedly on the cards but solely for the Chinese market.
Other models in the upcoming Mercedes-Benz line up include a facelift for the current S-Class, and the AMG GT is mentioned in the document in addition to a convertible version of the same. At Goodwood this year, Mercedes did reveal and confirm the track bred AMG GT R that develops 577hp which will be launched in 2017 is also mentioned in the leaked document.
Surprisingly, Mercedes-Benz is currently working to launch a pickup truck as well next year. Some reports have claimed that it will be called the ‘GLT’ and will rival the Ford F150, Nissan Navara, Toyota Hilux and the Volkswagen Amarok which are sold in the international markets. The GLT has been reported to have a loading capacity of one-tonne, making it the manufacturer’s first entrant into the segment. It is likely that Mercedes will add its luxurious touches in the interiors the GLT like it does with all of its SUVs for a more premium feel is a segment which is in high demand, especially in America.
