The redesigned Honda Amaze is set to go on sale in India on December 4, 2024. The third generation of the compact sedan will have significant exterior upgrades, including a new hexagonal grille with a honeycomb pattern, dual-barrel LED headlights with integrated LED DRLs, a muscular front bumper with bigger intakes, brand-new LED taillights, and new alloy wheels. It is expected to feature a large infotainment system, a single-pane sunroof, a wireless charging pad, a semi-digital driver display, and new upholstery to improve the interior experience over the current model. Upon its launch, the all-new Amaze will renew its rivalry against the Tata Tigor, Hyundai Aura, and Maruti Suzuki Dzire. It will fetch a higher price than the current-generation Amaze (Rs 7.20 lakh—Rs 9.96 lakh), with various cosmetic and feature upgrades. Read on for more details.

New Honda Amaze: Design
The upcoming Amaze is likely to borrow design cues from the current-generation Honda City with a bold, wide grille and a Honda logo prominently displayed in the centre. To highlight its athletic attitude, the bonnet will include strong creases, while the front bumper will take on a sportier appearance with more dynamic lines. Moreover, the new Amaze's headlights will closely match those of the Honda Elevate. Other possible bits include a shark fin antenna, smoked taillights, a reverse camera, and three headrests for rear-seat occupants.
New Honda Amaze: Powertrain
Following the transformation, the powertrain of the Amaze will likely remain untouched, with a 1.2-litre, 4-cylinder, naturally aspirated (NA) petrol engine paired with either a CVT automatic transmission or a five-speed manual gearbox. This unit generates a maximum power output of 90bhp and a peak torque of 110Nm. A CNG option may also be introduced later.

New Honda Amaze: Market Competition
The upcoming Amaze is expected to have a starting price beyond Rs 7 lakh (ex-showroom). It will compete directly with the Maruti Suzuki Dzire, which has just received a facelift, though prices have yet to be released. For those unaware, the all-new Dzire has the segment's first single-pane sunroof.
