The new Audi A8 sedan, featuring an all-electric powertrain, will likely unveil in 2024. The Four Rings brand will reportedly introduce the sedan with a battery of up to 120kWh, which could provide a driving range of up to 750 kilometre, making it the most powerful EV in the lineup, boasting a maximum power output of around 690bhp and above. Currently, the Audi RS E-Tron GT, which is capable of churning out the astonishing 637bhp, is considered the most potent electric model in the range. After the launch of the new electric Audi A8, the RS E-Tron GT will likely lose its position as the most powerful EV by Audi. According to industry reports, the upcoming flagship EV will presumably be very similar to the Audi Grandsphere concept from 2021. However, inside and outside, it is likely to have a traditional appearance. Further, the electric sedan will reportedly not have the conventional three-box design like its predecessors. Before its debut next year, let's explore more information about this upcoming electric sedan, which is said to arrive with several improvements.

New Audi A8 EV: Powertrain
Keeping with the business strategy to launch 20 EVs by 2025, the brand will introduce the new A8 with an electric drivetrain. The new EV of the German luxury brand is expected to ride on the most giant version of the PPE (Premium Platform Electric) platform. This architecture is co-produced by Audi and Porsche and is gearing up to mark its debut this year, supporting the Q6 E-Tron and the Macan.
Mechanically, there is no exact information about the EV yet, however, the industry reports claim that similar to the design, the new electric Audi A8 could mirror the power specifications of the Grandsphere concept. The production-spec EV could get the same 120kWh lithium-ion battery, capable of providing a range of up to 750 kilometre. The range figure will reportedly decrease after the model reaches the assembly line, even though the battery pack will probably be there. The Audi A8 will offer 800-volt technology and up to 270 kW charging speeds, much like all other PPE-based vehicles.
