Aston Martin has unveiled an updated version of its famously beautiful four-door. It now bears a mark on the boot which clearly speaks about the Rapide’s new avatar. With the slight nip-and-tuck, The Rapide S, looks devastatingly good. Though the design looks evolved, one cannot help but think about the recent of the Ford's designs when you look at the front grille. Keeping those things aside, the grille has grown in terms of size and retains the beautiful face that has always been Aston's trademark.
The ‘S’ that is added to the Rapide probably stands for Sport, and it also explains the significant change that has been made to the 6.0-litre V12 that lies under the bonnet. The Rapide S now generates 80bhp more than its predecessor, thus taking up the total to 550bhp. All this power helps it do a 0-100kmph in 4.7 seconds, compared to 5.1 for the earlier car, while its top speed climbs to 305 km/h.
The Rapide S also gets Adaptive Damping System, which offers drivers three settings: Normal, Sport and Track, which theoretically at least work to expand the usability of the car in varied conditions. A new carbon exterior pack adds an exotic element to all the major exterior trim pieces while also helping to reduce the weight. On the interiors front, Aston will debut a new duotone perforated red and black leather option, along with an option for Piano Black trim pack.
While it might be a few months before we see one of these achingly beautiful versions on our streets, we suppose we'll just have to admire its images till then.
