A test mule of the Tata Sierra has been seen near FC Road in Pune, India, ahead of its anticipated launch by the end of this year. The spotted car is fully covered, making it uncertain whether it's the ICE or EV version, though we speculate it’s the ICE variant. Tata Motors revealed the near-production version of the Sierra in its ICE configuration at the Auto Expo earlier this year. The new SUV is inspired by the iconic 90s model, but it introduces several distinct and modern design elements, including a sharper roofline, a more upright stance, and shorter overhangs. The traditional rectangular halogen headlights and grille of the original Sierra have been reinvented in the new model.
The updated grille has a glossy black trim, with integrated connected LED DRLs, the Sierra badge, and the signature Tata emblem. The sleek black air intake channels and angular LED headlights add to the aggressive stance.

Other highlights include vertically-stacked LED fog lamps, a body-coloured bumper, dual-tone alloy wheels, flush-door handles, a more upright tailgate, and a roof-mounted spoiler. Let’s take a look at other details.
Tata Sierra: Interior and Features
The interior is not seen in the spy shots, but it’s anticipated that the Sierra will come packed with features such as a wireless phone charger, a premium sound system, ventilated front seats, and a panoramic sunroof. It will also likely boast a large 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster. For safety, the Sierra is expected to offer ISOFIX child seat anchors, a 360-degree camera, 6 airbags as standard, electronic stability control, and Level 2 ADAS.
Tata Sierra: Powertrain
The Tata Sierra SUV is expected to have a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine with 166bhp and 280Nm. Tata could also offer a 2.0-litre diesel engine, producing 166bhp and 350Nm of torque, already seen in the Harrier and Safari.
