The new Suzuki Swift has achieved a 3-star safety rating in the Euro NCAP crash test. The hatch scored 26.9 points, or 67%, in the Adult Occupant Protection and 32.1 points, or 65%, in the Child Occupant Protection. It received 48% or 76% in the Vulnerable Road Users and 11.3 points or 62% in the Safety Assist categories. The Euro-spec Suzuki Swift comes with side chest airbags, side pelvis airbags for front passengers, side head airbags for all passengers, and dual front airbags. It offers seatbelt load limits and pre-tensioners for each passenger. The hatch also has the ADAS package, with features like fatigue and distraction detection, lane assist system, and speed assistance.
Notably, the new-gen Swift went on sale in India in May, with prices ranging between Rs 6.49 lakh and Rs 9.64 lakh (both, ex-showroom). It was the second best-selling car in June 2024, with 16,422 units sold. It's vital to note that the India-spec Swift differs from the international model. The hatch does not offer ADAS and hybrid technology, unlike its global counterpart.

2024 Suzuki Swift: More Testing Highlights
Before the Euro NCAP testing, the Swift was crash-tested by Japan NCAP. It received a 4-star safety rating with a 99% score. The hatchback demonstrated impressive occupant protection in frontal and side collisions, acquiring 81% (81.10 points out of 100) for collision safety performance. It scored higher in both the automatic accident emergency call system (100%) and preventative safety performance (99%). Further, the hatch earned an overall score of 177.80 out of 197 points (90%).
For safety, the 2024 Japan-spec Swift comes equipped with the ADAS suite. It gets dual sensor braking assistance, lane keep assist, adaptive cruise control, adaptive high beam assist, and road sign recognition. The hatchback also includes a 360-degree camera, blind spot monitor, and rear cross-traffic alert.

Maruti Suzuki Swift: Heading towards Bharat NCAP Testing?
While there is no formal announcement, the new-gen Swift in India could be the next car to go through Bharat NCAP crash testing. The India-spec model has several safety features like Six airbags (as standard), a rear parking camera, an electronic stability programme (ESP), and ISOFIX child seat anchorages.
