Skoda Auto India has announced that it will reveal the pricing of the second-generation Kodiaq on April 17. The upcoming SUV will be offered in two variants: Laurin & Klement (L&K) and Sportline. It features a refreshed exterior design and a completely overhauled cabin, now equipped with a broader array of features and amenities. The all-new Kodiaq introduces a thoroughly reengineered driving experience, starting with a robust 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine that delivers 188bhp of peak power and 320Nm of torque. Mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and equipped with an all-wheel-drive system as standard, the SUV promises dynamic on-road performance along with confident off-road capabilities. New Skoda Kodiaq: Appearance and Dimensions
The refreshed Kodiaq showcases a more refined and dynamic appearance. It retains its signature butterfly grille with vertical slats, now paired with updated matrix LED headlights featuring crystalline-effect daytime running lights, which offer 50% more light elements and a 15% increase in brightness. The SUV gains a slimmer air dam, a front radar sensor, newly designed alloy wheels, a revised bumper, and distinctive C-shaped wraparound LED taillights. A sleeker lower window line that angles upward near the C-pillar adds to its modern look.

The new-generation Kodiaq has grown by 61mm in length, now measuring 4,758mm. Its wheelbase stays at 2,971mm, while the width has decreased by 18mm to 1,864mm, and the height is now 1,659mm, 17mm lower than before.

The cabin of the updated Kodiaq exudes contemporary elegance, incorporating a host of cutting-edge features such as a 13-inch touchscreen infotainment unit, joined by a 10.25-inch digital cockpit and a head-up display that enhances driving focus by projecting key data onto the windshield. A unique feature is the brand’s Smart Dial system – three multifunctional rotary controllers positioned beneath the main screen, allowing users to manage key settings like climate control and media. Other amenities come in the form of ventillated and heated power-operated front seats, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, ambient lighting, a panoramic sunroof, a 14-speaker Canton audio system, wireless phone charging, and multiple USB Type-C ports.

On the safety front, the Kodiaq features a comprehensive suite of technologies designed to enhance driver confidence and passenger protection. Key highlights include up to nine airbags, an advanced ADAS package with functions such as lane-keeping assist, blind spot monitoring, and adaptive cruise control, Electronic Stability Programme (ESP), a 360-degree camera, hill start assist, and hill descent control – ensuring confident handling in various driving conditions.
When it comes to market rivals, the refreshed Kodiaq will compete with the Jeep Meridian, Toyota Fortuner, and MG Gloster. Upon launch, it is expected to be priced around Rs 40 lakh.
