Skoda Auto has officially teased the all-new Elroq, its upcoming electric SUV, ahead of its global debut on October 1 in Prague. Positioned as a key player in Skoda’s electric vehicle lineup, the Elroq is expected to combine the brand’s signature practicality with cutting-edge EV technology. The most recent teaser offers us a look at the exterior design of the forthcoming EV, which will be built on the MEB platform developed by the Volkswagen Group. The styling elements of the model have been hinted at by the manufacturer on a few occasions, as well as through sketches. It is important to note that the Elroq will be the company's first compact SUV that is entirely electric and the first to use its new "Modern Solid" design language. As the debut approaches, excitement is building around Skoda’s latest step towards an electrified future, offering a glimpse of what this new model will bring to the EV market. New Skoda Elroq: Teaser Highlights
The latest teaser showcases Elroq's segmented DRLs, which are a component of a lightbar that, as shown in the design sketch, spans the entire width of the front end of the vehicle. Boomerang-style headlamps, distinguished from the DRLs by body paint, will be located beneath the DRLs. Additionally, the SUV will have a closed-off, blacked-out grille. The teaser also highlights several design elements, including the alloy wheels and taillights. The rear end features the brand’s signature crab-arm LED tail lamps, in line with other models in Skoda’s lineup.
New Skoda Elroq: Powertrain Options
Skoda has previously confirmed that the Elroq EV will be available in four different powertrain options. The base model, the Elroq 50, will feature a 168bhp electric motor paired with a 55kWh battery. Next in the lineup is the Elroq 60, which offers a more powerful 201bhp motor and a 63kWh battery. At the top are the Elroq 85 and 85x, both equipped with an 82kWh battery. The 85 comes with a single motor delivering 282bhp, while the 85x adds a second motor on the front axle, boosting total output to 295bhp. Although Skoda hasn’t disclosed performance specs for these models, it has confirmed that the SUV will offer a range of up to 560 km on a full charge, depending on the variant.

Skoda's Electrification Plans
By 2026, Skoda aims to launch six new electric vehicles (EVs), following a €5.6 billion investment in e-mobility. The expanded lineup will include models such as the "Small" BEV in the small SUV category, the "Compact" Elroq in the compact SUV segment, a spacious "Combi" estate, and a seven-seater SUV called "Space." Skoda's first EVs built on Volkswagen Group's Modular Electrification Platform (MEB), the Enyaq iV and Enyaq Coupé iV, will receive updates in 2025 to align with the new design language that will define all future Skoda EV models.
