New Range Rover Sport Deliveries Begin in India, Here are the Top Highlights of the Luxury SUV

The latest Range Rover Sport has received short overhangs, large wheels, a 13.1-inch Pivi Pro infotainment system, and much more. 

Jaguar Land Rover revealed the third-generation Range Rover Sport in May 2022. The SUV is the second most costly model in the Range Rover lineup with prices starting from ₹1.64 crores (ex-showroom). The British automaker has finally commenced deliveries of the SUV in India. As the new SUV is ready to roll on the Indian roads, let's take a quick look at its top highlights.

Powertrain

The Land Rover offers two engine options for the new Range Rover Sport – a 3.0-litre petrol engine, which generates 394bhp and 550Nm, and a 3.0-litre diesel engine with 346bhp and 700Nm. The petrol version has also received a mild hybrid system. Both engines are coupled with 8-speed torque-converter automatic gearboxes, with air suspension and 4WD as standard. The SUV can travel from 0 to 100km/h in just 5.9 seconds, and its top speed is 234km/h.

Interior 

The new Range Rover Sport has a 13.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system with the Pivi Pro, a 13.7-inch digital instrument panel, and a redesigned three-spoke steering wheel. A ClearSight IRVM, 22-way power adjustable seats with massage functions, dynamic air suspension, and Terrain Response 2 with adaptive off-road cruise control are among other features of the SUV.

The boot space now measures 835 litres, which is 55 litres more than the previous model. The Range Rover Sport is now available as a four- or five-seat vehicle with two rows. And since there is no third row in the model, it has a huge baggage compartment. 

Exterior

The latest Range Rover Sport is also supported by the MLA Flex (Modular longitudinal architecture). The new SUV is 67mm longer than the outgoing model. Additionally, its wheelbase has increased by 74mm and its height by 17mm. The radiator grille and headlamps are thinner, and the front has a sporty appearance. The overall approach towards the design of the SUV is minimalistic. It also comes with flush-fitting door handles. Depending on the version, Land Rover has offered this SUV in a variety of paint schemes. 

Market Rivals

The Range Rover Sport competes with other high-end SUVs like the Mercedes-Benz G-Class, Porsche Cayenne, and BMW X7. It can also go against the models like the Audi Q8 and the Italian Maserati Levante.
