Porsche has launched the new-gen Panamera in India at Rs 1.70 crore (ex-showroom). The carmaker listed the model and its price on the official website in November last year. For comparison, the outgoing V6 Panamera carried a price tag of Rs 1.57 crore (ex-showroom). The latest Panamera has an evolutionary design update over its predecessor and minor fascia adjustments. It also comes with a wide range of engine options, including both hybrid and non-hybrid powertrains; however, the India-spec version currently only has one non-hybrid engine available. Porsche's supersport sedan is available in a single variant, although more variants are likely to be added. In India, the Panamera competes with the Mercedes-AMG GT63 S e-Performance 4-door Coupe (Rs 3.30 crore, ex-showroom). The deliveries will commence starting today.

New Porsche Panamera: Design
On the exterior front, the new Panamera's reworked front fascia, sporting a reprofiled bumper with larger air vents is the most notable change. Additionally, the updated LED headlamps with matrix LED tech have a more crisp appearance. With a prominent shoulder line and a retreating roofline, the side profile is nonetheless modest. The elegant wraparound LED taillights at the back, connected by an LED light bar, are a standout design element as well.
New Porsche Panamera: Powertrain Details
Powering the India-spec Panamera is a 2.9-litre twin-turbo V6 engine, which produces 349bhp of maximum power and 500Nm of peak torque, up 22.6bhp and 50Nm over the previous-generation model. This is the only engine option available for the vehicle. Power is sent to the rear wheels by an eight-speed PDK automatic gearbox coupled to this engine.
With a top speed of 272km/h, the new Panamera can sprint from 0 to 100km/h in just 5.1 seconds. The car's semi-active air spring setup and two-way adjustable rear spoiler enhance its dynamic capabilities. Although there won't be any hybrid models available here, Porsche is anticipated to introduce the more potent V8 Panamera in India at a later date.
New Porsche Panamera: Suspension
The global-spec model offers two suspension systems: fully active and semi-active. However, the India-spec Panamera comes equipped with only the latter. Shock absorbers with individual compression and rebound control assist the semi-active system's two-chamber air spring setup in responding fast to undulations.
