Nissan Motor has finally announced the price of its new-gen X-Trail for the Indian market. Priced at Rs 49.92 Lakh (ex-showroom), the three-row SUV is returning to India following nearly a decade-long hiatus. Available in a single variant, the X-Trail will be the second model in Nissan's India lineup after the Magnite SUV. For the uninitiated, the Japanese brand began accepting orders for the X-Trail on July 26 for a token amount of Rs 1 lakh. As far as deliveries are concerned, Nissan has confirmed that it will start handing over the car to customers next month. The company will sell the X-Trail as a Completely Built Unit (CBU). Prospective customers can choose from three exterior shades: Pearl White, Diamond Black, and Champagne Silver.

For the X-Trail, the manufacturer offers a single engine option: a 1.5-litre three-cylinder petrol unit paired with a 12V mild-hybrid system. This unit features variable compression and a turbocharger. It is mated to a CVT automatic gearbox and can produce 161bhp of maximum power and 300Nm of peak torque. To improve fuel efficiency, one can choose from three drive modes (Eco, Standard, and Sport), as well as an auto start/stop system. Unlike some competitors, the X-Trail will not be available with all-wheel drive technology. The SUV will use front-wheel drive technology because Nissan does not offer all-wheel drive for Indian customers.

In comparison to the Toyota Fortuner, MG Gloster, and Skoda Kodiaq, the X-Trail is a smaller vehicle. As for the dimensions, the car measures 4,680mm long, 1,840mm wide, and 1,725mm high. The wheelbase and ground clearance stand at 2,705 mm and 210 mm, respectively. It rolls on a set of 20-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels as standard.

The X-Trail SUV's design is comparable to the fourth-generation version, which has been on sale in global markets since 2021. The stand-out elements include split headlamps, a dark chrome-finished V-Motion grille, rounded wheel arches, LED daytime running lights, a dual-pane panoramic sunroof, and wraparound taillamps.
