Based on the Nissan Sway concept, the new Micra gets a sharper design
The news about Nissan about to take the wraps off its new generation Micra at the 2016 Paris Motor Show has been out for a while now. Just a week prior to the big debut, Nissan has released some teaser images of their upcoming hatchback. The next-generation Nissan Micra will be based on the Sway Concept that the car maker revealed last year.
Details of the New Micra are still sketchy, however, based on the teaser images it is safe to assume that Nissan has given the curvy design language the boot. In fact, it takes an edgy approach this time around and is also larger in terms of dimensions. Up front it gets sleek blacked out projector type headlamps with Daytime Running Lamps, a sharp cut v-shaped grille and distinct lines on the bonnet. The Micra will protruding tail lamps and a roof mounted spoiler.
This new hatchback is expected to be powered by petrol as well as diesel unit, possibly new 3-and 4 pot motors. Based on the CMF-B platform, the new Nissan Micra is expected to have a lower ground clearance than the current generation model. In India however, the current-gen Micra is based on the V-platform, that also underpins the Sunny. With that in mind, it is still unclear if Nissan will bring this new Micra to India but if they do, it will surely have to be tweaked to fit the Indian regulations thereby making the most out of the excise duty cuts. More details of the next-gen Nissan Micra will be revealed when the car makes its global debut next week at the 2016 Paris Motor Show.
