Mitsubishi Motors of North America, unveiled the new 2016 Mitsubishi Outlander at the 2015 New York International Auto Show. The seven-passenger crossover vehicle showcases Mitsubishi's new design language for the first time on a production vehicle.
The new Outlander looks significantly improved, and it features a "Dynamic Shield" front fascia with a massive grille with newly designed headlights. The crossover also gets new front fenders, a modified rear bumper, LED taillights and sporty 18-inch alloy wheels. Teh interiors have also gotten some upgrades such as a new steering wheel, upgraded infotainment system and revised trim. It also gets new and improved seats for comfort and a higher quality headliner.
The new Outlander also gets a few important mechanical upgrades such as an improved chassis, a redesigned suspension and a new electric power steering system. Mitsubishi's advanced safety systems feature in the car include Forward Collision Mitigation (FCM), Lane Departure Warning (LDW) and Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) are now available for the SEL and GT Models.
In the US, the car will be offered with a 2.4-liter four-cylinder petrol unit that produces 166bhp and 219Nm of torque and is mated to a new continuously-variable transmission, while the 3.0-liter V6 petrol unit develops 224bhp and 291Nm of torque and is mated to a six-speed automatic transmission.
