Maruti Suzuki will be launching the third generation of the Swift DZire in India at the end of May, 2017 and will get the same petrol and diesel engine options.
The third generation of the Swift and the Swift DZire are based on the new platform on which the Baleno hatchback is based on. This means that the new DZire will be more spacious inside the cabin and the boot, in addition to being lightweight, which will result in better fuel economy. Here are some details on what to expect from the upcoming new Swift DZire from Maruti Suzuki.
Engine
The new DZire is expected to be powered by the same engine family as the outgoing generation. The 1.2-litre, 4-cylinder VVT engine will be offered as the petrol option while the 1.3-litre, 4-cylinder turbocharged DDiS engine will be the diesel offering. Like the out going generation, the new DZire will feature a 5-speed manual gearbox, while an AMT automatic transmission is expected to be offered with both petrol and diesel options.
Features and Equipment
Maruti Suzuki will offer a host of features with the new DZire which will include a touchscreen Smartplay infotainment system with navigation, steering mounted audio and voice control, Apple CarPlay, automatic climate control and more.
Safety Features
To meet the new safety regulations, the DZire will come equipped with a reversing camera while rear parking sensors, dual airbags and ISOFIX child seat restraint anchors will be offered as standard fitment.
More Upmarket
The new generation of the DZire will be slightly more upmarket. The interior cabin trim will have a more premium feel and will have a brand new dashboard. The previous generation of the Dzire had quite cramped cabin, the new generation will be more spacious than the outgoing model with more room for the rear seat passengers while also having a larger boot.
Expected Price
Maruti Suzuki is expected to price the new DZire competitively keeping the current-gen model’s price tag in mind with a close eye on the competition and the Baleno hatchback as well. The new DZire is expected to have a starting price of Rs. 5.5 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
The all-new Maruti Suzuki Swift DZire will compete with the Ford Figo Aspire and the Honda Amaze, but is likely to offer a better package with equipment and cabin space. As it is expected to be competitively priced, the DZire will be highly popular in the Indian market as always.
