The deliveries of the fourth-generation Maruti Suzuki Swift, launched on May 9, have commenced across India. The first unit went to a customer in Delhi, with other regions to follow soon. Priced from Rs. 6.49 lakh to Rs 9.64 lakh (ex-showroom), the new Maruti Suzuki Swift is available in five variants – LXi, VXi, VXi (O) ZXi and ZXi+. Speaking of which, the unit in question is the base-spec LXi variant, done in Pearl Artic White colour. Other colour options are Sizzling Red, Magma Grey, Luster Blue, Splendid Silver, and Novel Orange.
Despite strong demand, the bookings remain open for the new-generation Maruti Suzuki Swift. Maruti Suzuki had commenced bookings for a token amount of Rs 11,000 on May 1. Since then, the company has garnered over 10,000 orders for the refreshed vehicle.

New Maruti Suzuki Swift: Engine, Mileage
The new Swift gets a new Z-series, 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder petrol engine underneath the skin. Replacing the earlier K-Series engine, the new motor is tuned to produce 80bhp at 5,700rpm and 112Nm of torque at 4,300rpm, down by 9bhp and 1Nm. Like its predecessor, the new Swift is mated to either a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed automatic transmission. As for mileage, the manual version yields 24.8km/l, while the automatic version offers 25.75km/l.
New Maruti Suzuki Swift: Features
The cabin of the new Swift is well-equipped with a 9.0-inch SmartPlay Pro+ touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, in addition to an analogue instrument cluster, Arkamys sound system, rear AC vents, Type-C charging port, cruise control, auto climate control, keyless entry, and push-button start/stop.
New Maruti Suzuki Swift: Safety Kit
The safety kit includes six airbags, ISOFIX anchors, rear parking sensors, ABS with EBD, hill start assist, ESC, and seatbelt reminders for all seats.

In terms of market competition, the 2024 Maruti Suzuki Swift goes against the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios and the Citroen C3. Moreover, it is an alternative to the Tata Tiago, Nissan Magnite, Tata Punch, and Renault Triber.
