New Maruti Suzuki Dzire CNG Variants, Mileage Revealed Ahead of India Launch

The new Maruti Suzuki Dzire CNG will be available in two mid-spec variants: VXi and ZXi; it will offer a fuel economy of 33.73km/kg (claimed).

The new-generation Maruti Suzuki Dzire sedan is due for its India launch on November 11. It will bring updates in the form of refreshed styling, new features, and the same Z series engine that powers the Swift. Speaking of, there will be two powertrain options upon launch – petrol with either 5-speed MT or AMT and CNG with MT. The former delivers 24.79–25.71km/l, while the latter has a fuel economy of 33.73km/kg, making it more frugal than the previous model. Both are claimed figures. 

Under the hood, the new Dzire CNG will get a 69bhp, 1.2-litre three-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine with a factory-installed CNG kit. The torque output will be rated at 102Nm. On one hand, the upcoming Dzire will offer a more fuel-efficient CNG version. But on the other, you can have a more powerful petrol model with 80bhp and 112Nm. The CNG model will be offered in two mid-spec variants: VXi and ZXi, while the petrol-powered Dzire will come in LXi and ZXi+ variants.

New Maruti Suzuki Dzire CNG: Exterior, Interior

Design-wise, the Suzuki Dzire CNG will feature a wide grille (with horizontal slats), LED projector headlamps, LED daytime running lamps, as well as body-coloured doors and outside rearview mirrors. It will also come with 15-inch alloy wheels and chrome accents around the vehicle. Inside, it will boast a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, along with steering-mounted controls, push-button start/stop, a 6-speaker sound system, and a wireless charger. Safety bits will include electronic stability control, a tyre pressure monitor, 6 airbags, and ABS with EBD. The model will make do with a rear parking camera, while the petrol version will be offered with a 360-degree camera.

The new Dzire is expected to start at around Rs 6.70 lakh (ex-showroom). It will go against the Hyundai Aura, Tata Tigor, and the upcoming Honda Amaze, which will be launched on December 4.
