Maruti Suzuki has unveiled the fourth-generation Dzire in India with new features, powertrain, and design. The subcompact car has four variants (LXi, VXi, ZXi, and ZXi+) and is powered by the same three-cylinder Z-Series engine as the next-generation Swift, which launched in May. Bookings for the sedan are currently open for a small deposit of Rs 11,000, while prices are set to be announced on November 11. Here's everything you need to know about Maruti Suzuki's popular subcompact sedan, which has received a substantial facelift since 2019.
New Maruti Suzuki Dzire: Powertrain
The 1.2-litre, three-cylinder, Z-Series petrol engine on the Dzire produces 80bhp of maximum power and 112Nm of peak torque. It can be paired either with a five-speed manual or AMT transmission. Similar to the Swift hatchback, the new Dzire gets a CNG powertrain.

New Maruti Suzuki Dzire: Exterior
The Dzire boasts a distinctive design in its fourth-generation avatar. The front end is completely different from the previous model and has absolutely no resemblance with the new-generation Swift on which it is based. The headlamps are now sleek with blacked-out bezels and multiple crystal-like elements, while the hood is flat with minor creases at the corners. The larger, hexagon-shaped grille features six horizontal slats, with the Suzuki logo prominently displayed in the middle of the top one, which is covered in chrome and piano black.
Although the new Dzire's silhouette is comparable to that of the previous model, its shoulder line is more noticeable. The vehicle now has new alloy wheels, and the most expensive models have diamond-cut patterns. At the rear, the subcompact sedan features redesigned LED taillights with triangular-shaped inlays and a discernible chrome strip.
New Maruti Suzuki Dzire: Interior and Features
Aside from a few stylistic modifications and amenities, the all-new Dzire's interior is largely similar to its hatchback counterpart, with equipment such as a multifunction steering wheel, analogue instruments, HVAC controls, and air conditioning vents. The 9-inch Smartplay Pro Plus unit offers wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, as well as other connected car capabilities. Other notable features include an electric sunroof (which is a first for the Dzire), wireless charging, automated climate control, an engine start/stop button, ABS with EBD, cruise control, six airbags, a 360-degree camera, and three-point seatbelts.
