After months of speculation, Maruti Suzuki has finally set a launch date for its fourth-generation Dzire sedan. The Indian arm of the Japanese automaker's updated sedan will arrive in two weeks on our market. It will be launched on November 11, and to ease the wait until that date, here's a breakdown of the powertrain, design, and features.
The upcoming Maruti Suzuki Dzire will be based on the new Swift hatchback and get a Z-series, 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder petrol engine. It remains to be seen how much power and torque the sedan will produce, but here's what the Swift makes with the same engine – 80bhp at 5,700rpm and 112Nm of torque at 4,300rpm. Maruti Suzuki is expected to offer the CNG-powered Dzire as well, albeit at a later stage. At launch, the new-generation Dzire will likely be available with a 5-speed manual transmission along with an optional 5-speed AMT.

New Maruti Suzuki Dzire: Design
Per leaked images, the upcoming Maruti Suzuki Dzire will have different design elements to make it stand out from the Swift. These include a wider grille (with horizontal slats), slimmer LED headlamps, a more sporty front bumper, redesigned LED taillamps, a boot lid-integrated spoiler, a shark-fin antenna, and a new set of alloy wheels. More angular body creases will be another differentiating factor.
New Maruti Suzuki Dzire: Features
We expect a cabin design and layout similar to the Swift, albeit with different colours. Other expected features include an electric sunroof (segment-first), a floating touchscreen infotainment system (with Apple CarPlay/Android Auto), an analogue instrument panel, a new console for AC functions, a two-spoke steering wheel, automatic climate control, a 360-degree camera, and cruise control.
