Maruti Suzuki has sent us a media invite, indicating the launch of the 2024 Dzire in November 2024 in India. The text of the invite reads: 'The Best Is Just The Beginning'. The Indian automaker has yet to reveal the launch date of the new-generation Dzire sedan, which will be based on the all-new Swift hatchback that made its India debut in May 2024. Having said that, we expect Maruti Suzuki to announce the pricing of the updated sedan in early November 2024.
Design-wise, the upcoming Maruti Suzuki Dzire will be evolutionary compared to the new Swift. A wider grille (with horizontal inserts), slimmer LED headlamps, and a more sporty bumper will likely make up the front fascia, while the profile is expected to sport a fresh set of alloy wheels. At the back, the updated sedan will likely feature redesigned LED taillamps and bumper, complete with a boot lid-integrated spoiler. Other expected bits include LED fog lamps, a shark-fin antenna, and an electric sunroof (segment-first).

New Maruti Suzuki Dzire: Underpinnings
While its styling will be differentiated from the Swift, the 2024 Dzire will be underpinned by Maruti Suzuki's lightweight Heartect platform. Considering this, the fourth-generation Dzire is expected to use the same Z series 1.2-litre 3-cylinder petrol engine as the new Swift. In the 2024 Swift, the engine makes 80bhp at 5,700rpm and 112Nm of peak torque at 4,300rpm, and is mated to either a 5-speed manual or an AMT transmission. The CNG-powered sedan is on the cards as well.
The Swift received a CNG powertrain in early September, making it the first Maruti Suzuki model to get the new Z series engine with a CNG kit. The Swift CNG is offered in three variants – VXi, VXi (O) and ZXi – and is priced from Rs 8.20 lakh to Rs 9.20 lakh (ex-showroom).
New Maruti Suzuki Dzire: Features
The details of the sedan's interior are under wraps, but we expect a similar cabin design and layout, albeit with different colours. Other expected features include a floating touchscreen infotainment system (with Apple CarPlay/Android Auto), a new console for AC functions, a two-spoke steering wheel, automatic climate control, a 360-degree camera, and cruise control.
