Lamborghini has confirmed that a refreshed Avantador is on its way and will also get an S version.
Even though Lamborghini has not revealed any images, a facelifted Aventador is expected to be dropped in January. The New Aventador will get new styling, more modern tech and gadgets and, as if it required any, more power.
After dropping their complicated numerical suffixes in the names of their cars, which began with the convertible rear wheel drive Huracan, The Aventador will feature three versions, the standard Aventador, the Aventador S and the Aventador SV.
The current standard Aventador had a naturally aspirated longitudinally positioned, mid-mounted 6.5-litre V12 that produces 691bhp and comes mated to an old fashioned hydraulic clutch automatic gearbox. The update on the new car is expected to be the same engine tuned to produce around 760bhp like the Lamborghini Centenario. The gearbox might be updated to a quicker dual-clutch DSG system and the higher spec cars like the S and the SV could also get the rear wheel steering system found on the Centenario as well.
Though the car will only be an update and not a brand new replacement for the existing vehicle, the exterior styling may remain quite similar to the current car, albeit few changes will be obvious. The S and the SV versions of the car are expected to get more aggressive styling similar to the limited edition Centenario.
The new Lamborghini Aventador family is expected to be launched in the global market in January 2017.
