Kia India will enter the seven-seater MVP segment by the end of this year with an all-new MPV, which will be positioned between the Seltos and Carnival.
Kia India has officially confirmed that the brand will soon introduce an all-new MPV in the market. The new MPV will be positioned between the Kia Seltos and Kia Carnival. Kia officials have confirmed that the launch is scheduled for the end of 2021.
One such prototype of Kia’s upcoming MPV has been spotted on test. While the new MPV was covered under wraps, one could see that its size appears to be similar to that of the MG Hector Plus, Tata Safari, and Hyundai Alcazar. The pricing of Kia’s new MPV is expected to be in the range of Rs 18 – 23 lakh (ex-showroom).
It has been confirmed that the new MPV will be sold with a three-row layout; however, there is no clarity yet if the MPV will have a bench seat or a captain seat configuration in the middle row. Going by the trend in the Indian market, Kia will most likely resort to an optional six-seat configuration, with captain seats in the middle-row.
The feature list is expected to be on par with the competition. It will also be equipped with the connected tech, which is available with all Kia cars in India. Expect features such as ventilated seats, head-up display, dual-zone climate control, and electric seats to be present in the new MPV. In terms of powertrain options, it is will both diesel and petrol. Both manual and optional automatic transmission will be offered too. The drivetrains will most likely be borrowed from other Hyundai group cars.
