Kia India is preparing to introduce the updated version of its premium MPV, the Carnival, in the country. Ahead of the new-generation Carnival's official India launch on October 3, the company has finally opened pre-bookings for the model today. Interested customers can book the 2024 Kia Carnival with a token amount of Rs 2 lakh, via the brand's official website or at Kia's dealerships across the country. The fourth-gen Carnival will likely be sold in India as a completely built-up (CBU) model. For the uninitiated, the company sold over 14,500 units of Carnival following its initial launch in the Indian market. Along with the new luxury MPV, the South Korean automaker will also launch the EV9 e-SUV on October 3.

New Kia Carnival: Design Cues
Official teasers suggest that the Indian version of the new Kia Carnival would look a lot like the global-spec model. It has the newest design elements from Kia, including a chrome-accented, prominent grille, four-piece LED headlamps stacked vertically and connected LED daytime running lights (DRLs). Compared to the previous model sold in India, the front end is distinguished by a broader grille and a larger, more upright nose. The power-sliding rear passenger doors, which are carried over from the second-generation Carnival, will remain on the sides. A fresh set of alloy wheels and connected LED taillights are further features of the new model.
New Kia Carnival: Interior and Features
Although the details of the interior layout are still under wraps, we expect the refreshed model to come with a three-row seating arrangement. The cabin could be similar to the international model, sporting a black and grey theme. In terms of features, the Carnival will probably boast amenities such as dual 12.3-inch integrated screens (one for a digital driver's display and one for infotainment), ventilated second-row seats with leg support, two single-pane sunroofs, a heads-up display, wireless phone charging, a 12-speaker Bose sound system, Level-2 ADAS with 23 autonomous functions, a digital key, ventilated and powered seats, a 360-degree camera, multi-zone climate control, entertainment screens for rear passengers, and six airbags.
New Kia Carnival: Powertrain Options
As per several market reports, the new Kia Carnival will retain the same 2.2-litre diesel engine with an automatic gearbox. In this configuration, the Carnival will produce 197bhp of maximum power and 440Nm of peak torque. Meanwhile, the global-spec model is available with 3.5-litre V6 petrol and 1.6-litre turbo-petrol-hybrid options.
