Kia India has updated its Carens lineup with the introduction of new variants. The significant changes come in the form of a fresh diesel drivetrain, several new amenities, and a new Pewter Olive paint job. There is a brand-new 1.5-litre diesel mill paired with a six-speed manual transmission. With this, the Carens' impressive trim lineup now has thirty options to choose from. As part of this revamped range, Kia has also included an upgraded X-Line model with premium features like voice-activated window functions, a dashcam, and expanded seven-seating options. For the uninitiated, the X-Line variant of the Carens went on sale in India in October last year. While the cost of the Carens starts at Rs 10.52 lakh, the price of the latest variants begins at Rs 12.11 lakh. The new 1.5-litre Diesel MT version is priced at Rs 12.67 lakh. Meanwhile, the top-of-the-line X-Line variant, now enhanced with new features, will set you back Rs 19.67 lakh. The mentioned prices are ex-showroom figures.

Kia Carens: New Updates

In the refreshed lineup, the Prestige +(O) variant in 7DCT and 6AT includes a sunroof in addition to room lamps and LED map lamp. Furthermore, the Prestige (O) model comes with a gear knob covered in leatherette, a smart key with a push-button start, an LED rear combination lamp, an LED DRL, and a positioning lamp. It can accommodate six or seven people. Besides this, the Premium (O) trim boasts a steering wheel-mounted remote control, a Shark Fin antenna, an eight-inch D/Audio system, burglar alarms, and improved safety features, all of which add to the convenience.

New Kia Carens Pewter Olive

To enhance customer experience, all models now have a 180W charger, which offers faster charging capabilities as compared to the 120W charger. The Carens also brings a new paint option, Pewter Olive, to complement the existing eight monotone and three dual-tone shades, as well as one exclusive option for the X-Line variant.

Speaking on the latest update, Myung-sik Sohn, Chief Sales and Business Officer, Kia India, commented, "We are excited to introduce the new trims of the Carens. Since its debut in 2022, the Carens has become a preferred personal mobility choice for over 1.5 lakh families, embodying comfort, reliability, and luxury. We saw a huge potential for a 6-seating option and decided to refresh Carens to reshape mobility preferences for more and more families seeking luxurious and comfortable rides."

Kia Sonet Gets New Lower-spec Variants

Apart from the Sonet, Kia has also revamped the Sonet lineup with the addition of new HTE (O) and HTK (O) variants. The HTE(O) trim's petrol version costs Rs 8.19 lakh, while the diesel version is priced at Rs 10 lakh. The price of the HTK(O) trim, on the other hand, is Rs 9.25 lakh for the petrol engine and Rs 10.85 lakh for the diesel engine.

Although there are no mechanical modifications, the new HTE(O) and HTK(O) trims come with extra features to improve the driving experience. These new trims are now equipped with a sunroof, which was previously only available on the HTK+ and higher models. Potential Sonet purchasers will find the sunroof easier to access thanks to this update. The HTK(O) version also gains features like connected taillamps and automatic climate control.
