New Jeep Compass Officially Teased Ahead of Global Debut
The 2025 Jeep Compass will offer an expanded selection of powertrains, including hybrid, plug-in hybrid, and fully electric variants.

Jeep has unveiled teaser images of the refreshed Compass, hinting at a bold new design ahead of its official debut this spring. The updated SUV appears to feature a sleeker front grille, redesigned LED headlights, and sportier styling cues, aligning with Jeep’s rugged yet modern aesthetic. While specific details remain under wraps, the teaser suggests a more refined and aggressive stance, possibly incorporating new technology and interior upgrades. As one of Jeep’s best-selling models, the Compass is expected to receive significant enhancements to stay competitive in the compact SUV segment. With anticipation building, the company promises a dynamic blend of performance, off-road capability, and advanced features, setting the stage for an exciting launch in the coming months.
New Jeep Compass: Design Elements

Jeep first hinted at the arrival of the next-generation Compass in October 2024 with a shadowy teaser that subtly outlined the SUV’s shape. While that initial glimpse focused on its tall, boxy stance, newly released images provide a more detailed look at its exterior. One close-up highlights a redesigned seven-slot grille, now more vertical and recessed, featuring an illuminated strip along its upper edge.

The headlights appear to be rectangular, incorporating projector elements. At the rear, the taillight sports a split light guide with the reverse light or indicator positioned at the centre, alongside ‘Performance LED’ branding and the Jeep logo. Another image, showing a monocoque chassis on an assembly line, suggests that production is already in progress in Europe.
New Jeep Compass: Platform and Powertrain
For the first time, the Compass will be available with a 4x4 drivetrain, marking a major step forward for the model. It is built on the STLA Medium platform, a versatile architecture also used by the likes of the Peugeot e-3008, e-5008, Opel/Vauxhall Grandland, and the Citroen C5 Aircross. Production will initially take place at Jeep’s Melfi facility in Italy, though the brand may later extend manufacturing to the FCA India plant in Pune, following the precedent set by the current Compass.

The latest iteration of the Compass will offer an expanded selection of powertrains, including hybrid, plug-in hybrid, and fully electric variants. However, Jeep has yet to reveal detailed performance specifications. The Indian market is expected to receive petrol and diesel engine options.

While the European launch is confirmed for the latter half of this year, the timeline for North America remains uncertain. Speculation suggests Stellantis is reconsidering the launch of the electric version in the U.S. and Canada, which could lead to a delay. Meanwhile, due to the weak sales of the current-generation Compass, industry reports indicate that Jeep may forgo introducing the new model in India. Further details are expected as its official debut draws closer.
