Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) has revealed that it has crossed the one lakh booking mark for the 2024 Creta. This milestone came within 3 months of its arrival on our market in January. Notably, the updated SUV was the company's first product launch of this year. The facelifted model comes with enhanced features, a new drivetrain option, and a significantly redesigned exterior and interior. With over 13,000 units sold on average each month, the Hyundai Creta SUV has been one of the company's best-selling models in India. Hyundai also disclosed that the percentage of total bookings for the sunroof and connected car models accounts for 71 per cent and 52 per cent, respectively. The price for the Creta starts at Rs 11 lakh and goes up to Rs 20.15 lakh. Both mentioned prices are ex-showroom.
Hyundai Creta: Powertrain Options
Mechanically, the Creta has three engine options: a 1.5-litre normally aspirated (NA) petrol engine, a 1.5-litre diesel engine, and a new 1.5-litre turbo-petrol unit. The first two units, producing 250Nm/114bhp and 144Nm/113bhp, respectively, were modified to meet the more stringent BS6 Phase II emission standards. The new turbo GDi petrol engine, on the other hand, puts out 158bhp of maximum power and 253Nm of peak torque. Moreover, four transmission options are available: a six-speed manual, an IVT, a standard seven-speed DCT, and a six-speed automatic.
Hyundai Creta: Feature List
The feature list includes an 8-speaker Bose audio system, a massive panoramic sunroof, wireless charging, an air purifier, dual zone climate control, ambient lighting, LED lights throughout, front ventilated seats, 17-inch alloy wheels, a 360-degree camera, drive modes, electronic parking brake, and an ADAS. Six airbags, an electronic stability program (ESP), a tyre pressure monitoring system, vehicle stability management, hill start assist, an emergency stop signal, and three-point seatbelts for every passenger are among the standard safety features.
Hyundai Creta: Rival Models
In the domestic market, the SUV faces competition from the likes of the Mahindra Scorpio, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Toyota Hyryder, Kia Seltos, and Tata Harrier.
Hyundai Creta N-Line
The Creta recently received a stylish new N-Line version. It sports an aggressive body kit, a modified suspension system, 18-inch wheels, a unique exhaust, and all-black interiors with red accents. Under the hood, there is a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine with a six-speed manual or a seven-speed DCT transmission. Starting at Rs 16.82 lakh, the price of the Creta N Line goes up to Rs 20.44 lakh. Prices are ex-showroom.
Apart from this, the Korean carmaker is also planning to introduce an all-electric Creta SUV in India. The model, which was recently spotted testing, is anticipated to launch in late 2024.
