Honda Cars India is gearing up to launch the 2023 Honda City facelift in the country tomorrow. The updated mid-size sedan will compete against the 2023 Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, the Volkswagen Virtus, the Skoda Slavia, and the Hyundai Verna. The 2023 model will almost certainly include several changes in terms of exterior and powertrain. The all-new Honda City will have two engine options on offer. There will be a 1.5-litre i-VTEC petrol engine with 6-speed manual and CVT automatic transmission options. A 1.5-litre Atkinson Cycle DOHC i-VTEC petrol engine with a strong hybrid system and an e-CVT will also be available. This time, it will be offered with RDE and E20 compliances. The manufacturer will discontinue the 1.5-litre i-DTEC diesel engine that was previously available with the vehicle. This engine will not be upgraded to meet the upcoming real driving emission (RDE) norms.

For the most part, nothing has changed in the 2023 City. To breathe new life into its design, some significant changes are made to the exterior. With updates like the new front bumper, which now has a splitter around the lower portions, it may without a doubt boast of increased appeal. New fog lamp housings have been added, and the grille has a bigger mesh and a slimmer chrome slat. The front fascia of the redesigned City looks tidy, although the designers have not modified the headlamps. For a sportier look, the rear facet now has a lip spoiler and tail lamps that are smoked out. To ensure cohesion with changes on other sides, the lower portion of the bumper receives a splitter-like treatment as well. Sideways, though, it is still exactly like the previous model.
Coming to the interior, the cabin's appearance hasn't changed either. However, it now includes Honda Sensing, just like the hybrid version. Moreover, new ambient lighting, fresh upholstery, and wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay are all feature updates in this area. Speaking of variants, the 2023 Honda City facelift will add a new entry-level variant called SV, replacing the City's previous three variants, V, VX, and ZX. The City hybrid, which previously came in a single fully-loaded ZX variant, will also receive a new V variant. Further, SV, V, VX, and ZX variants will be available for the 2023 Honda City facelift petrol, and V and ZX variants will be available for the 2023 City facelift hybrid.
