Honda is set to launch the latest Amaze sedan on December 4, introducing Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) to the compact sedan segment in India. Known for its practicality and strong performance, the new Amaze promises a significant technological upgrade, making it one of the most advanced offerings in its class. The addition of ADAS will enhance safety and convenience with features like adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, and autonomous emergency braking – features typically reserved for higher-end vehicles. This update aligns Honda with industry trends as other manufacturers begin offering similar tech in compact sedans.

New Honda Amaze: Design Details

The Japanese carmaker recently unveiled a teaser for its eagerly awaited compact sedan, the redesigned Amaze. The new sketches showcase the Amaze’s commitment to Honda’s global design language, incorporating a front grille inspired by models like the Civic and Accord. Developed at the Honda R&D Asia Pacific center in Thailand, this third-generation Amaze reflects insights gathered from extensive Indian market research to enhance its upscale sedan experience.

The Amaze stands out with its premium aesthetic and commanding road presence. The sketches highlight twin-pod LED headlights, accented by a sleek chrome strip above the grille. The sedan’s bold front bumper features horizontal slats, likely accompanied by LED fog lamps. Detailed character lines run across the hood and side panels, connecting to the LED taillights, while the rear sports a subtle trunk spoiler and distinct bumper creases for added flair.

New Honda Amaze: Feature Suite

The interior of the new Amaze features a streamlined, dual-tone design, emphasising simplicity and functionality. Taking cues from the Elevate, it may include advanced features like a 10.25-inch floating touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a wireless charging pad, an HVAC control panel, an upgraded sound system, and possibly a 7-inch digital display for instrumentation.

On the mechanical front, the next-generation Amaze will likely feature a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated (NA) petrol engine. This unit produces 88bhp of maximum power and 110Nm of peak torque. It will be paired with two transmission options: a five-speed manual and a CVT automatic.

New Honda Amaze: Market Rivals

The price of the current-gen Honda model starts at Rs 7.19 lakh and goes up to Rs 9.95 lakh. Both prices are ex-showroom figures. Equipped with advanced tech features, the new Amaze is likely to see a modest price increase.

In terms of market rivalry, the upcoming car is positioned to set a new benchmark in the Indian sedan market competing with models like the Maruti Suzuki Dzire, Hyundai Aura, and Tata Tigor.
