Skoda is set to launch the new-generation Kodiaq SUV in India in May 2025. The confirmation came from Petr Janeba, Skoda India’s Brand Director, during the launch of the Kylaq compact SUV. This updated model will bring many improvements, including advanced technology, enhanced safety features, and a refreshed design. Known for its blend of practicality and performance, the Kodiaq has established itself as a popular choice among SUV buyers. The new version will likely appeal to families and SUV enthusiasts looking for a balance of comfort, functionality, and style. While full details are yet to be revealed, the upcoming Kodiaq promises to add more value to the Czech carmaker's lineup in India.
New-gen Skoda Kodiaq: Exterior
Built on the VW Group’s MQB platform, the Kodiaq continues as a seven-seater, now measuring 4,758mm in length, an increase of 59mm, while height, width, and wheelbase remain the same.
The new-gen model is already undergoing testing and adopts a sharper, more angular look, giving it a bolder presence than the previous model. The front retains Skoda's recognisable butterfly grille with vertical slats but now sports a revised split headlight design, with wider primary lights and LED daytime running lights (DRLs). A refined air dam and a front radar hint at the inclusion of advanced driver assistance technologies.

The side profile retains the SUV’s signature shape, but the new alloy wheels and a slightly longer rear overhang indicate a more spacious interior. The rear has been completely refreshed, featuring C-shaped LED taillights, prominent Skoda badging, a roof spoiler, and optional D-pillar accents.
New-gen Skoda Kodiaq: Powertrain and Features
Although the Kodiaq can be had with various powertrain options worldwide, the Indian market will likely receive only a 2.0-litre TSI turbo petrol engine, producing 187bhp and 320Nm of maximum torque. This engine will come standard with a seven-speed DSG automatic transmission. Apart from this, the car manufacturer is expected to include an all-wheel-drive (AWD) option.
The Kodiaq's cabin will feature a new dual-tone design, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, a panoramic sunroof, ambient lighting, a two-spoke steering wheel, a 10-inch digital instrument cluster, ventilated and heated front seats, dual-zone climate control, and a larger 13-inch touchscreen for infotainment.

The safety suite of the SUV will include up to nine airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control (ESC), a 360-degree camera, and parking sensors on both ends, along with advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS). Notably, the new Kodiaq earned a 5-star safety rating from Euro NCAP this year.
Alongside the Kodiaq, Skoda plans to introduce the facelifted Kushaq, the new Superb, and the Enyaq EV in 2025.
