The New Honda WR-V does not just get a visual makeover but also changes in terms of dimensions – it's now longer, wider, and taller than its predecessor.
The new-gen Honda WR-V has been unveiled for the Indonesian market. It has undergone a thorough redesign and now comes with new features, which also include connected car technology and an improved safety kit.
A 1.5-litre i-VTEC petrol engine – the same unit that powers the Honda City in India – can be found under the hood. It has a maximum power output of 119bhp and a maximum torque output of 145Nm, which is about 29.5bhp and 35Nm more than the variant developed for India.
The new-generation WR-V features reshaped headlamps on either side of a bolder-looking grille. The Indonesia-spec model measures 4,060mm in length, 1,780mm in width, and 1,608mm in height – approximately 60mm longer, 46mm wider, and 7mm taller than the India-spec WR-V. And at 220mm, its ground clearance has also gone up.
The WR-V's interior has received quite a few modifications. It features two dual-tone colour schemes and leather seats, with red stitching. A digital infotainment screen and a 4.2-inch semi-digital TFT driver display are on offer. Honda has also added 60:40 split seats at the back to increase the boot capacity, which is now 380 litres – 17 litres more than the India-spec WR-V.
The new WR-V also has remote functionality, which allows you to lock or unlock the car without a key. Additionally, it also has an automatic cooling feature, which can be used to cool the car after it has been remotely started. Honda is currently contemplating introducing the new WR-V in India. When it launches, it will compete with models like the Hyundai Venue, Maruti Suzuki Brezza, and Tata Nexon.
