As reported earlier, the new Ford Endeavour SUV – based on the Ranger's platform with a ladder-frame architecture – is expected to arrive on the Indian market through a CBU (completely built-up unit) route in 2025. Meanwhile, the American automaker is preparing its assembly line for volume production. However, it remains to be seen whether Ford chooses to import the SUV into India without homologation (allowed up to 2,500 units per year) or restart local operations at its Chennai plant – the sale of which has been put on hold.
In a recent development, the Ford Endeavour has been spotted for the very first time on Indian roads. The SUV spotted is sold as the Ford Everest in Thailand, Australia, and other international markets. Visually, it is identical to the one Ford had registered the design patent for in January 2024. The current-generation Endeavour SUV was launched overseas in 2022; however, Ford did not bring it to India. Hence, once launched, this generation of the SUV will be brand-new for us.

The former makes 168bhp and 405Nm of peak torque, while the latter generates 207bhp and 500Nm of torque. The SUV also offers an option of a new 3.0-litre V6 turbo-diesel engine that powers the new Ford Ranger. In some markets, it is available in a 4x2 configuration.
New Ford Endeavour: Price
In India, the price of the new Ford Endeavour is expected to be analogous to its primary rival, the Toyota Fortuner – the next-generation version of which is expected to make its Indian debut by the end of 2024.
Ford Mustang Mach-E: India Launch Soon?
In related news, the American automaker filed a trademark for the name ''Mustang Mach-E" in February 2024. Unveiled in November 2019, the Mustang Mach-E was the brand's first all-electric model, for which the company already had plans to launch in India. Like the Endeavour, the Mach-E will likely be brought to India as a completely built-up unit (CBU).
