Citroen has introduced the new e-C3 in Europe, with a starting price of about 23,300 Euros (Rs 20.50 lakh). The French automaker offers a new design language to the model that embodies crossover stylistic elements. The EU-spec model features a more distinct front end than its predecessor, with Citroen's new symbol flanked by a set of C-shaped lights. The model's rear has taillights that stretch into the quarter panels as well as a stationary spoiler over the window. Compared to the previous model's 135mm, the new e-C3 has 163mm of ground clearance. The Citroen e-C3 has two variants: You and Max, and it is available in five different colors: Polar White, Montecarlo Blue, Elixir Red, Mercury Grey, and Perla Nera Black. Customers will get the brand's characteristic two-tone contrasting roof in black or white as standard equipment on the Max variant, with the separation on the C-pillar precisely following a crisp form line pushed into the sheet metal of the C-pillar. Let's take a look at further details on this newly introduced Citroen model in Europe.

Under the bonnet, the e-C3 has a 44kWh Lithium Ferro Phosphate (LFP) battery that enables a driving range of up to 320 kilometres. The EU-spec version's single front-mounted electric motor produces 109.4bhp and offers acceleration from 0-100km/h in 11 seconds. With this configuration, the model tops out at 135km/h. A 100 kW DC charger can charge the battery from 20% to 80% in about 26 minutes. The same process, however, takes 4 hours and 10 minutes with a regular 7 kW AC charger.

Although the new model's dashboard layout is identical to that of its predecessor, there are some notable differences, one of which is the absence of an instrument cluster (analog or digital). The new Citroen Head-Up Display now shows important pieces of information.

In addition, the new model features an Advanced Comfort Suspension system with twin progressive hydraulic brakes. This feature is a first in the city car market, vowing a "magic carpet ride." The car also includes new Citroen Advanced Comfort seats with extra cushioning to make distant travels more comfortable.

Thierry Koskas, CEO of Citroen, commented on the new e-C3 and said ''Offering affordable vehicles has always been a major part of Citroën’s DNA. But customer expectations for vehicles in the B-segment have changed, notably with the rise in popularity of SUVs and the increasing desire to drive electric in and around our cities, and it has become more challenging for European vehicle makers to meet those expectations.
