The most successful high-performance sedan from the German automobile manufacturer – the BMW M5 – will be available at the BMW dealerships across the country today onwards.

BMW today launched its highly successful M5 in India. The car will reach the BMW dealerships across India as a Completely Built Unit (CBU) today onwards. The car will be available only in the petrol variant and will cost Rs 1,35,40,000 (ex-showroom, all India).

The new M5 is driven by numbers that are enough to put the competition to shame in every way possible. The engine is an M TwinPower Turbo eight-cylinder petrol that churns out a maximum power of 560hp and a maximum torque of 680Nm. In a nutshell, it means that the car will reach the 100kmph mark from zero in 4.3 seconds. The power is transmitted to the wheels using a seven-speed M dual-clutch transmission and the shift paddles make sure that you remain in-charge all throughout.

The safety in this car is taken care of by features like air bags, Active M Differential, Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) including M Dynamic mode, Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Brake Assist, Active Protection with Attentiveness Assistant and Active headrests (front).

Other innovative technologies like Intelligent Lightweight Construction, Automatic Start/Stop function, Brake Energy Regeneration, Electric Power Steering and 50:50 Weight Distribution give it a magnificent performance-to-fuel-consumption ratio.

Other features like next generation of BMW iDrive with touch controller and handwriting recognition, BMW Navigation Professional with 25.9 cm colour display with 3D maps, full-colour BMW Head-Up Display with M-specific views, Connectivity through Bluetooth and USB devices, Harman Kardon Surround Sound system, BMW Apps and Park Distance Control (PDC) rear and front along with rear view camera make sure that the performance doesn’t make you compromise on anything.

Commenting on the launch, Mr. Philipp von Sahr, President, BMW Group India said, “Power delivery, torque, driving dynamics: the new BMW M5 embodies pure athleticism. Conventional rules do not apply to the new BMW M5. An independent production of BMW M GmbH, it remains faithful to the M philosophy, perfectly combining high performance with optimum everyday practicality. An uncompromising presence, a natural leader, it conquers every challenge. Whether on the open road or in the city, it is the perfect interplay of heartbeat, horsepower and exhilarating harmony.”
