Audi has added two new models to its electric vehicle lineup – the A6 e-tron and the higher-performance S6 e-tron. Both models are based on the new PPE (Premium Platform Electric) architecture, which also underpins the Audi Q6 e-Tron and the new Porsche Macan. As expected, the new Audi A6 e-tron has split headlamps, although beneath LED daytime running lights. The latter is configurable, while the former are adaptive matrix beams.
A body-coloured trapezoidal grille and a sculpted bumper with character lines further characterise the front fascia of the A6 e-tron. On the other hand, the S6 e-tron's bumper adds a bit of sportiness. Along the sides, the A6 e-tron boasts flush door handles rather than the conventional ones found on the Q6 e-tron. Audi says the A6 e-tron is the most aerodynamic Audi ever, with a drag coefficient of just 0.21 for the Sportback version. Speaking of which, the model comes in two body styles: Sportback and Avant.

The low-slung Avant version, meanwhile, has a drag coefficient of 0.24, making it one of the best in its segment. Aero-optimised elements also include 19-inch wheels as standard and compact outside rearview mirrors. The S6 e-tron comes with 20-inch wheels as standard. At the rear, there is a large tailgate with customisable OLED taillamps. The tailgate also features a striking diffuser. Unlike the Q6 e-tron, the Audi A6 e-tron wears an illuminated four-ring Audi badging.
2025 Audi A6 e-tron: Interior
Inside, the new Audi A6 e-tron closely resembles the Q6 e-tron. There is a big, curved panel housing a 14.5-inch infotainment system and an 11.9-inch digital instrument cluster, along with a 10.9-inch display for the front-seat occupant. There is also an optional augmented reality head-up display (AR HuD) as well as the Audi assistant with AI (artificial intelligence) support. Another talking point is the ambient light strip around the dashboard, which also doubles as a charging indicator and turn signal.
Other bits include a panoramic glass roof (with switchable opacity), a squarish steering wheel, a powered tailgate, a 20-speaker Bang & Olufsen sound system, and 236-litre cargo space. Rather than a traditional gear lever, the model gets a new toggle switch for the drive selector. Safety equipment includes a 360-degree camera and an ADAS (advanced driver assistance systems) suite.
2025 Audi A6 e-tron: Powertrain
Under the hood, the new Audi A6 e-tron will be available in three guises – the base-spec rear-wheel-drive (RWD) system with 282bhp, the Performance rear-wheel drive with 362bhp, and the top-spec Quattro all-wheel drive with 422bhp. The S6 e-tron will come in a single Quattro all-wheel-drive setup with 543bhp (using launch control).
The top-spec variant of the Audi A6 e-tron can accelerate from 0 to 100km/h in 4.3 seconds before topping out at 210km/h, whereas the S6 e-tron takes 3.7 seconds to cover 100km/h. The latter's top speed is rated at 240km/h. Except for the base A6 e-tron RWD that uses an 83kWh battery, all other models are powered by a larger 100kWh battery pack, delivering a range of 647–756km.
With 800V electrical architecture allowing up to 270kW, the 100kWh battery can be charged from 10 to 80 per cent in a claimed time of 21 minutes. Onboard AC charging with up to 11 kW is available, while a 22 kW AC charging option will also be offered later.
