President and CEO Carlos Ghosn took the wraps off Nissan's totally redesigned flagship Maxima "4 Door Sports Car" at the New York Auto Show. The car looks very attractive and features a sporty and upscale sedan design.
The Maxima's styling showcases Nissan's new design language with the V-Motion front end, signature boomerang lights, kick-up C-pillars and a unique floating roof appearance. The interiors of the Maxima is also very nicely setup with a bespoke interior anchored by a driver's cockpit that rivals other luxury vehicles. The Maxima also comes with next-generation technology features including a standard NissanConnectSM with navigation, featuring an 8.0-inch touch-screen display, along with SiriusXM Satellite Radio and SiriusXM Travel Link applications, online Search with Google and other connectivity features. The NissanConnect system is paired with a standard 7.0-inch Advanced Drive Assist Display (ADAD) within the instrument cluster. It also comes with new state-of-the-art safety systems.
Under the hood the Maxima is powered by a new 3.5-liter VQ-series V6 petrol engine that has been redesigned with more than 60 percent new parts (compared to the previous generation 3.5-liter V6). The engine can pump out 300bhp, while at the same time improving fuel efficiency by 15 percent. This engine is mated to a new, performance-oriented Xtronic transmission featuring a wider ratio range, which allows for stronger acceleration from a standing start.
