A brand-new Shadow Edition from Mini, based on the Countryman Cooper S JCW (John Cooper Works), has been launched in India at an ex-showroom price of Rs 49 lakh. Only 24 units of the special edition model have been designated for the Indian market. These units have been locally manufactured at the BMW Group Plant in Chennai. Sharing his views on the launch, Vikram Pawah, President, of BMW Group India, said, ‘The MINI Shadow Edition is an edgier and elusive version of the iconic MINI. Limited to only 24 units, this all-black MINI Shadow Edition with melting silver roof and mirror caps is mysterious and effortlessly cool. Inspired by the alluring play of light and shadow of urban nightlife, this MINI is perfect for the unconventional, who like to stand out from the crowd and make a bold statement.’ Those interested can make reservations on the official Mini India website for the Shadow Edition.

Mini Countryman Shadow Edition: Design Highlights
This limited-edition sports hatchback's all-black body and molten silver roof and mirror caps are its standout design features. A unique touch is added to the vehicle's overall look by the piano black exterior, special double-matt paint on exterior decals, and subtle Shadow Edition details. Decals on the front fender, side scuttles, door entry sills, and roof rails and stickers on the roof above C-pillars are a few other distinguishing features of the Shadow edition. The hatchback gets a John Cooper Works aerodynamics kit, along with 18-inch Grip spoke alloy wheels.
Mini Countryman Shadow Edition: Interior and Features
Inside, you are welcomed by Silver and Leather Chester Malt Brown upholstery, enhanced by colour-coordinated lines that run along the door panel, armrest surfaces, and knee pads under the dashboard. The Mini Excitement Pack includes LED interior and ambient lighting along with a projection of the Mini logo from the driver-side exterior mirror when opening or closing the vehicle's door. The Mini Shadow Edition also provides the driver and front passenger with more head and shoulder room. By lowering the rear backrest with its 40:20:40 split using the cargo function, the boot's capacity can be raised from 450 litres to 1,390 litres.
The Countryman Cooper S JCW Shadow Edition is jam-packed with features, including an 8.8-inch circular instrument console, Apple CarPlay, an integrated navigation system, wireless charging, a Harman Kardon Hi-Fi audio system, Bluetooth connectivity, a panoramic glass sunroof, and more. Moving on to the safety features, the car is equipped with conveniences like an anti-lock braking system, front and passenger airbags, cornering brake control, brake assist, park distance control, three-point seatbelts, emergency spare wheel, crash sensor, cruise control, a run-flat indicator, a rearview camera, and dynamic stability control (DSC), among others.

Mini Countryman Shadow Edition: Powertrain
The Mini Shadow Edition is propelled by the brand's well-known 2-litre 4-cylinder petrol unit with TwinPower Turbo technology. This engine puts out 176bhp of maximum power at 5,000 – 6,000rpm and 280Nm of peak torque at 1,350 – 4,600rpm. The Shadow Edition can accelerate from a complete halt to 100km/h in 7.5 seconds and has a top speed of 225km/h. A 7-speed DCT automatic gearbox handles transmission duties. It also gets paddle shifters, which are located behind the steering wheel, and three driving modes – Green, Standard, and Sport.
