The first all-electric Mini has made its India debut. The firm says that all the units of the first batch of the Cooper SE have already been sold out.

The Mini Cooper SE has made its India debut at an impressive price of Rs 47.20 lakh (ex-showroom). For now, the firm only has a batch of 30 Mini Cooper SE, and Mini says that all units have already been reserved and that the respective owners will start getting deliveries by early next month. Bookings for the next batch will commence by the end of the year, which is when the second lot will be delivered as well.

The Mini Cooper SE has been positioned in a niche segment of its own. The all-electric hatchback packs some interesting features, which include a 5.5-inch all-digital instrument cluster and an 8.8-inch infotainment screen. The multimedia system includes Apple Carplay, Android Auto, and a Harman Kardon audio system. The seats are finished in Nappa leather, offering a premium touch.

The outer styling is very similar to that of the IC engine-powered Minis; however, the Cooper SE gets high-visibility colour schemes and SE specific alloys. Mini has brought in the latest iteration of the Cooper SE, which is on sale overseas. The Cooper SE also rides 15mm higher than the standard Cooper for improved battery clearance.

The Cooper SE gets a 181bhp and 270Nm electric motor, which takes power from a 32.6kWh battery pack. The 0 – 100km/h time for the Cooper SE is 7.3 seconds, but the top speed is limited to 150km/hr. The hatchback can be fast-charged from 0 to 80 per cent in 36 minutes with a 50kW charger. An 11kW charger does the same in 150 minutes and will take 210 minutes for a full charge, which will last for 270km.
