Moreover, first 1,000 customers will be eligible for an exclusive introductory price of the car; bookings open against an amount of ₹ 50,000.
MG Motor India has officially started accepting bookings for its second product - the ZS EV. However, physical bookings have only been opened in five Indian cities - Delhi, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Bengaluru and Hyderabad. Bookings for the ZS EV can also be done online at mgmotor.co.in, against an amount of ₹ 50,000.
Keeping in mind the shortfalls in India's EV charging infrastructure, MG is already working on setting up DC super-fast charging network at select MG showrooms. To be available 24x7, this network will further be reinforced by an extended charging network due to be set up in select satellite cities, along key routes. As for the charging paraphernalia for the customer, MG will provide an onboard 15A charging cable wit the car and also aims to install AC fast chargers at the customers' residence/office.
With the 50kW DC fast-charger, the ZS EV can charge up to 80 per cent capacity in a claimed 15 minutes, while the AC fast chargers can provide 100 per cent charge in around 6-8 hours.
To provide a stress-free ownership experience, the ZS EV will also come with MG's 'eShield' package (at no additional cost) that includes a standard 5-year/unlimited km warranty on the car, an 8-year/1,50,000km warranty on the battery pack and 24x7 Road-Side Assistance (RSA) for five years. Recently, MG Motor India also announced a tie-up with the Belgium-based firm Umicore for battery recycling and disposal of End-Of-Life (EOL) batteries.
Expect the MG ZS EV to make its commercial debut sometime next month. In the meantime, you can go through our detailed first-drive review of the ZS EV here.
