MG Motor has officially opened bookings for its new Windsor EV in India for a token amount of Rs 11,000. Prospective buyers can reserve the vehicle via the official MG website or by visiting any of the authorised dealerships. Positioned between the smaller Comet and the flagship ZS EV, it is the latest addition to MG’s electric vehicle lineup, offering modern technology, sustainable mobility, and affordability. Available in three variants, the EV is packed with advanced features such as a 15.6-inch infotainment screen, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and a panoramic glass roof. With a 38kWh battery pack, the Windsor EV delivers a claimed range of 331 km on a single charge.

MG Windsor EV: Price Details
The Windsor EV is priced starting at Rs 9.99 lakh with the new battery rental option, and Rs 13.50 lakh for outright purchase. It is available in three variants: Excite, priced at Rs 9.99 lakh (rental) and Rs 13.50 lakh (full purchase); Exclusive, at Rs 10.99 lakh (rental) and Rs 14.50 lakh (full purchase); and Essence, at Rs 11.99 lakh (rental) and Rs 15.50 lakh (full purchase). All mentioned prices are ex-showroom figures. While opting for the battery rental lowers the initial cost, MG will charge a rental fee of Rs 3.50/km, so it is essential to calculate your expected usage before deciding on the best option.
To enhance the appeal of the new offering, MG offers several attractive benefits for the first owner, including a lifetime battery warranty, one year of complimentary charging at public stations via the eHUB by MG app, and a guaranteed 60% buyback after three years or 45,000 km. Additionally, the company provides the MG e-Shield warranty program, which includes a three-year unlimited km warranty on the vehicle, three years of roadside assistance coverage, and three labour-free services.
MG Windsor EV: Mechanical Setup
The MG Windsor EV is equipped with a 38kWh lithium-ion battery, featuring a front-axle permanent magnet synchronous motor. This configuration generates a maximum power output of 134bhp and peak torque of 200Nm, providing a range of up to 331 km on a single charge. It has four driving modes: Eco, Eco+, Normal, and Sport.
Charging times vary based on the charger used: a 3.3kW charger requires about 13.8 hours for a full charge, while a 7.4kW charger completes the process in 6.5 hours. A 50kW DC charger can charge the battery from 0 to 80% in just 55 minutes. Furthermore, the Windsor EV supports a maximum fast charging rate of 45kW, effectively reducing downtime.

Inside, the MG model houses a 15.6-inch 'Grandview' main touchscreen alongside an 8.8-inch digital instrument cluster, featuring Apple CarPlay and Android Auto for seamless connectivity. It also offers a four-way electrically adjustable passenger seat, a premium 9-speaker Infinity sound system, a 360-degree surround-view camera system, a leather-wrapped two-spoke steering wheel, a panoramic glass roof, and 256 multi-colour LED ambient lighting. The rear Aero-Lounge seats can recline up to 135 degrees. The rear seat accommodates three passengers, equipped with 3-point seat belts and adjustable headrests. For enhanced safety, the MG EV includes a range of features such as electronic stability control (ESC), six airbags, and a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS).
