The MG Windsor EV – which is based on the Wuling Cloud EV sold in the Indonesian market – is set to launch soon in India. Ahead of that, MG's latest teaser is out, partially revealing the Windsor EV's interior. The teaser confirms the presence of a 3-passenger seat at the back, which can recline up to 135 degrees. The rear seats feature 3-point seat belts and adjustable headrests. Other noticeable bits include rear air-con vents, a rear centre armrest, and leather upholstery with quilt-like stitching.
Since the Windsor EV is the rebadged version of the Wuling Cloud EV, we expect the equipment list to include a 15.6-inch touchscreen infotainment system, an 8.8-inch digital instrument cluster, a panoramic sunroof, multi-colour ambient lighting, automatic climate control. Safety-wise, the upcoming EV could pack electronic stability control, six airbags, ABS with EBD, front and rear parking sensors, electronic stability control, a tyre pressure monitoring system, and ADAS (advanced driver assistance systems) tech.

Touted as the 'Intelligent CUV', the Windsor EV is expected to get a wide air dam, an integrated spoiler, door-mounted ORVMs (outside rearview mirrors), split LED headlamps, a closed-off grille, and an LED DRL spanning the fascia. The international-spec model has 18-inch alloy wheels with 215/55-section tyres. While MG has yet to confirm, the Cloud EV designed for the Indian market may include these styling elements.
The Windsor EV will be the first product from MG to come with the MG App Store built into its infotainment system, in turn offering in-car gaming, entertainment, and learning, along with a 'Hello Jio' voice assistant system with multiple Indian languages, including English, Hindi, Marathi, Gujarati, and Tamil. The Windsor is also confirmed to get home-to-car functionality.
MG Windsor EV: Powertrain
In the global market, there are two battery options on offer – 37.9kWh and 50.6kWh, sending power to a 134bhp, front-axle-mounted electric motor. The former yields a claimed range of 360km, while the latter offers a 460km range. It remains to be seen which of these versions will make its way to India.
