MG Windsor EV: Design, Battery Details, and Market Competitors
Essentially a rebadged version of the Wuling Cloud EV, the Windsor follows the Aero Glide design language. It sports aesthetic components such as vertically stacked headlamps, an illuminated MG logo, a wide-sloped windscreen with a short hood, a full-width light bar in the front, 18-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, and rear flush-fitting door handles.
On the mechanical front, a permanent magnet synchronous motor and an IP67-rated 38kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery power the MG Windsor EV. The motor can generate 220Nm of peak torque and 134bhp of maximum power. It claims to have a 331-kilometre range and can be charged in 55 minutes with its DC fast charging.
Even though the prices of its higher-spec variants have not yet been disclosed, the Windsor's test drives will begin on September 25. Bookings will commence on October 3, with deliveries set to begin on October 12. As far as market rivalry is concerned, the EV competes against the Tata Nexon EV, Curvv EV, and the Mahindra XUV400.
