MG currently has the updated Hector and a brand new EV in the pipeline for India.
MG Motor India reported strong sales in July after it sold a total of 4,013 vehicles. The company’s current portfolio includes models like Hector, Hector Plus, ZS EV, Gloster and Astor. It is planning to debut the updated Hector as well.
The brand opened its act in India back in 2019 with the Hector, which went on to be one of the most popular offerings in its segment. This was followed by the debut of its first fully electric offering, the ZS EV. The company manages to sell around 300 units of EVs every month, claiming that the demand is even higher.
MG has made it to the headline in the past week after teasing the updated Hector for the very first time. The company released a picture of the updated infotainment system in the car, which at 14-inch, would be the biggest unit in any car sold in India. The company has hinted that the car will reach dealerships later this year.
The company has also confirmed that its next new product for the Indian market would be a pure EV that will be priced between Rs 12 lakh and Rs 16 lakh. The British brand seems to be confident about the new offering and is expecting to find mass-market appeal and subsequently more buyers than the current ZS EV.
